Vocational Services
The Arc, Ocean County Chapter, Inc. includes three Adult Training Centers (located in Lakewood, Toms River and Tuckerton), and one Sheltered Workshop, The Arc Employment Center. These centers employ over three hundred (300) individuals who are registered with one or more of the following funding sources; The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), The Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) and public and private school districts.
The Adult Training Centers provide individuals with a supportive environment in which they are able to develop and improve upon life, social and work-related skills. Program goals are based on individual needs and the goals of each program participant are outlined in their Individualized Habilitation Plan (IHP). Program participants earn piece-rate wages through sub-contracted work and janitorial services. This work includes: assembly, sorting, labeling, packaging, recycling, lawn care, collating, tagging, folding, and stuffing.
The Arc Employment Center is a sheltered workshop that provides a supportive environment in which individuals are able to improve their work related skills and obtain a competitive job in the community. Our 18,000 square foot facility offers a wide array of sub-contract work for our clients to determine occupational interests, work tolerance, assets and limitations. We also operate an additional 7,000 square foot warehouse for additional shipping and storage for our larger accounts.
All programs operate Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, and are closed on major holidays. Transportation to and from the programs is provided by Arc Transportation Services.
