The Arc, Ocean County Chapter recognizes the importance of health and wellness for the individuals we support through our Healthy Lifestyles for Adults with Disabilities initiative. We have launched several programs since 2020, please learn more below.

A qualified team of clinicians provides behavioral, counseling and medical supports to improve quality of life and empower individuals with IDD to reach their personal goals.

Located at the ATC Lakewood, the Bill Burke Wellness Center indoor gymnasium was completed in 2021 thanks to the Bill Burke Memorial Fund. The inclusive outdoor recreation area was completed in 2024 funded by a grant from the County of Ocean.

Adaptive Fitness Classes
The Arc is providing adaptive fitness classes for all abilities to stay active and exercise through Vocational Services.

The Wellness Program through Recreation Services launched in 2024 to encourage more proactive healthy lifestyles among people with disabilities through cooking and fitness.

Meal Planning
The Arc is working with My25 to create custom meal plans for residents catered to special diets and healthy eating.

Training Kitchen
A state-of-the-art Training Kitchen located at our newly renovated Brick location will focus on balancing health and wellness through food.
