Bowling Leagues

Ocean Rollers and Ocean Stars Bowling is back!

The Arc, Ocean County Chapter proudly manages two bowling leagues through its Recreation Services. The Ocean Rollers represent the northern part of Ocean County and compete in Special Olympics bowling, while the Ocean Stars represent the southern part.

Ocean Rollers Northern Bowling @ Ocean Lanes in Lakewood

• Date: every Monday starting September 23rd and ending May 19, 2025
• Time: 3:00 pm-5:00 pm
• Location: Ocean Lanes, 2085 Lanes Mill Rd, Lakewood, NJ 08701
• Price: $80 registration fee + $8.50 for 2 games and shoes

Ocean Stars Southern Bowling @ Thunderbird Lanes in Manahawkin

• Date: every Tuesday starting September 24th and ending May 20, 2025
• Time: 4:00 pm-6:00 pm
• Location: Thunderbird Lanes, 640 E Bay Ave, Manahawkin, NJ 08050
• Price: $80 registration fee + $10 for 2 games OR $12 for 2 games and shoes

Please Note: 

• Should your loved one require close or line-of-sight supervision while in the community, please accompany them to the weekly practices and competitions. The Arc does not guarantee supervision to any one individual participant during bowling activities.
• Days off for holidays or for high school competitions will be announced at a later date.
• Details about the end-of-year pizza party will be shared in Spring 2025 and will require a separate registration.

Additional Important Information

• Updated: Masking for recreational activities is strongly encouraged but no longer mandatory for both indoor and outdoor activities. If feeling ill, please stay home. If any participant tests positive for COVID-19, please notify Lauren Sarno via email immediately.
• We should avoid snacking during practices. Please bring water bottles for athletes as there will not be water fountains available.
• All registration paperwork must be in prior to bowling. You can download the registration paperwork here.
• Submit confirmation of completed waivers as mandated by Special Olympics:
  • High Risk Waiver & COVID 19 Code of Conduct Waiver
  • Communicable Diseases Waiver
• All bowlers must wear legitimate bowling shoes to bowl. The bowling alleys will no longer allow any participant to wear regular sneakers.
• If at any time, a participant becomes COVID positive, it must be reported immediately via phone call to Lauren Sarno.

Dates of bowling may be subject to change should Covid-19 guideline modifications require us to do so for the health and safety of our participants.
