Exploring Ocean County

Tuckerton ATC at the wind mills

The Arc, Ocean County Chapter’s vocational Adult Training Center day programs have been exploring local spots all over Ocean County to promote community inclusion and encourage a more hands-on learning experience.

The Tuckerton ATC visited the Waste Management wind turbines in Atlantic City to learn about renewable energy, while the North Bay ATC explored the historical houses in Sandy Hook to gain insight into New Jersey’s history, and the Community Connections ATC enjoyed a trip to the Cape May Zoo.

These trips also offer valuable social and networking opportunities. The Employment Center joined the Day of Impact to connect with local businesses, while Journeys and Discovery volunteered at the Wrangle Brook community garden and Compassion Cafe, fostering teamwork and a sense of giving back.

By engaging with local places and people, The Arc's vocational day programs help create a more inclusive, welcoming community for all.
