The Arc, Ocean County Chapter is proud to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) all October long as we acknowledge the contributions of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to America’s workplaces and economy.
This year’s theme, "Access to Good Jobs for All," highlights the need for inclusive opportunities that empower individuals to build meaningful careers which perfectly aligns with our mission as we are committed to creating a more accessible workforce that allows everyone to thrive.
Through our wide array of Vocational Services programs, we provide job training, employment opportunities, and transportation for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help individuals find productive employment, increase self-sufficiency, and boost self-esteem while contributing valuable resources to the community. Our participants continuously engage in community-based service options to develop the skills needed for competitive employment.
As we celebrate NDEAM, let us reflect on the benefits of inclusive employment to individuals and the broader community. Employment offers people with disabilities independence, fulfillment, and financial security while enriching workplaces with diverse talents and perspectives.
