On November 14th, The Arc, Ocean County Chapter was excited to join fellow local nonprofits at the OceanFirst Foundation Pop-Up Shop. The event created a unique space for organizations to connect with one another and engage with the community while offering OceanFirst Bank employees a fun and interactive way to support local causes.
The Development Department participated by selling beautiful holiday greeting cards designed by vocational participants, with funding provided by an Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission grant. At the same time, the Community Connections Adult Training Center sold freshly baked cookies, brownies, and chocolate-covered pretzels, and the Tuckerton Adult Training Center made its third appearance at the OceanFirst headquarters offering homemade dog treats crafted by their participants.
The Pop-Up Shop not only raised donations but also gave vocational participants the chance to gain valuable life skills, including baking, money management, and effective communication—all while contributing to a meaningful cause. The event was a resounding success, fostering a sense of community and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while highlighting their creativity and hard work.
