Building Futures: How the Learn to Earn Internship Program is Shaping Tomorrow's Workforce

Learn to Earn

The Learn to Earn Pre-ETS Internship Program is currently making a meaningful impact on students preparing for the workforce. Designed to provide hands-on employment and life skills training, the program has been steadily growing, connecting students with valuable internship opportunities across Ocean, Monmouth, and Burlington counties.

The program has successfully trained students in essential workplace skills, covering everything from professional communication to time management. Participants have completed 150-hour internships, demonstrating their dedication and readiness for employment. The employer partners come from a wide range of industries. This allows students with diverse interests to match—whether in retail, finance, cooking, construction, administration, or other fields—ensuring meaningful and personalized internship experiences.

What makes this initiative unique is that it comes at no cost to employers—interns are fully funded through the program. This allows businesses to support students without financial constraints, creating an environment where young professionals can thrive.

One student from Burlington County has completed our first set of workshops equipping her with communication, self-advocacy, and other workplace skills.

“These workshops have been very impactful for me in helping me prepare for the workplace!’ Tori Sax said. “I am very grateful for this program and all it has taught me,”

Tori is currently halfway through her internship, where she is working with art and painting at a local business. As the program continues to expand, more students will begin and successfully complete their internships and gain valuable experience.
